What is the Difference Between Essex and Cut Pile?

The two most popular materials we offer are our standard Cut Pile material and our ultra plush Essex upgrade material.
They are both cut pile carpeting but what sets the Essex apart?
Standard Cut Pile Material
- Cut Pile is our standard carpet and floor mat material, constructed of 14oz nylon yarn tufted to 1/8 gauge cutpile density.
- Cut Pile is the industry standard material and is available in the widest range of colors.
Essex Material Upgrade
- Essex carpet material is a super plush upgrade to our standard Cut Pile.
- Standard Cut Pile is ¼ inch high whereas Essex is 3/8 inch high.
- 40% more nylon fibers than regular Cut Pile gives your interior a plush, luxurious interior.
- Essex material can be specified in the dropdown menus for just about any vehicle.
- Our Essex material is dyed using the finest dyes available and tested for ozone humidity fading & light fastness.
- It comes in 76" widths & can be Mass (rubber latex) or polyethylene backed.
