Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Factory Interiors FAQ — your go-to resource for answers about our automotive interior parts and accessories, including carpet kits, floor mats, headliners, upholstery, door panels, dash covers, and more.

How do I find my vehicle’s original interior colors and materials?

Simply enter your Year > Make > Model and select the Product Category you’re shopping for. We’ll automatically display available options that closely match your vehicle’s original interior.

Please note: While our replacement products are made to replicate OEM colors and textures, they do not use OEM color names or codes. We highly recommend ordering our free color sample swatches before purchasing to ensure the best possible match for your vehicle.

Can I request samples before ordering?

Absolutely — and we strongly recommend it. You can request up to 6 free swatches here. Samples typically ship by the end of the next business day, helping you make a confident, informed choice before you buy.

Are your products in stock?

You may notice products show lead times of 2–3 days, and some up to 30–45 days — and wonder what “in stock” actually means for a custom-made product. Here’s how it works:

When a product is listed as in stock, it means two things: the raw materials needed to produce it are on hand, and the product has not been discontinued. It does not mean a finished product is sitting on a shelf ready to ship. Nearly all of our products — including carpet kits, floor mats, headliners, and upholstery — are custom-made to order for your specific vehicle.

The lead time shown on each product is the estimated time from when you place your order to when it arrives at your door — including production and shipping. Lead times vary by product type and complexity.

How do I know my vehicle’s cab style or drivetrain (2WD vs. 4WD)?

If you’re unsure whether your truck is an Extended Cab, Crew Cab, Access Cab, Double Cab, 2WD, or 4WD, the easiest way to confirm is by checking your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

Every vehicle produced after 1981 has a unique 17-digit VIN that encodes the vehicle’s body style, drivetrain, engine, and other factory specifications. You can decode yours for free using the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) VIN Decoder:

Is your automotive carpet waterproof?

No. Our carpets are designed for interior automotive use only. They are not waterproof and should not be used in boats, outdoor environments, or any application where they may be exposed to the elements.

What if the color doesn’t match when I receive my order?

Color mismatch is the #1 reason we strongly encourage ordering swatch samples before purchasing. If you receive your order and the color isn’t right:

  • Contact us to request a Return Authorization (RMA) number before sending anything back
  • Returns due to color discrepancy are not covered under warranty
  • A 20% restocking fee applies, and return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility
